A former lode Au-Pb mine located in sec. 24, T1S, R15E, MDM, 1.8 km (6,000 feet) NW of Big Oak Flat, in the headwaters area of Grizzly Gulch. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with 2 veins, hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips E. The 2 veins occur in black slate accompanied by dikes. The quartz in the veins is banded and contains sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft and several surface cuts.
