A former lode Au-Ag group of claims/mine located in the E½SE¼ sec. 27 & in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 35, T1N, R14E, MDM, 0.9 km (2,800 feet) E of Stent and approximately 4 miles S of Jamestown (on the ridge W of Kanaka Creek), on private land (private lease; fee ownership; minerals only). Owned by the Pathfinder Gold Corp. (30.00%), Nevada (1986); and by the Sonora Gold Mining Corp. (70.00%), Canada (1986) (owner-operator). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.

Mineralization is a Au deposit. The ore body strikes N16W and dips 70NE. The Jumper Mine worked along a dike intruded between amphibolite schist walls where small veins and quartz stringers cut the 5 to 50 foot thick schistose zone. This mine is different from other mines on the Mother Lode Belt at this locality, in that no continuous ore shoots occur. The footwall of the vein is a hard altered diorite and serpentine with a diorite and diabase hanging wall. Free-milling gold ore occurs with 2% pyrite. Pocket gold was common here. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 inclined shafts. The New Era shaft is 1,400 feet; the Golden Rule is 500 feet and the West vein shaft is 200 feet. There is a 400 foot deep winze at the 1,400 level on the New Era, and an 800 foot winze on a 70 degree incline at the 493 level of the Golden Rule shaft.

Mostly low-grade ore was produced.
