A former Au mine located in secs. 21 & 29, T35N, R11W, MDM, 2.5 km (8,300 feet) SE of Stoveleg Gap, along Indian Creek, near its confluence with East Fork Trinity River (1.8 miles SSE of Backbone Ridge lookout), on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Trinity Alps Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is quartz in fissures with free gold, hosted in dolomite, hornblendite, and schist. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits, 135 and 170 feet long; and a 45 foot deep shaft, all in ore. Some ore was blocked out. Workings total some 350 feet.

No production record found (sic). Ore was free-milling and of good grade.
