A Mn occurrence located in the SW¼ sec. 30, T1N, R8W, HM, 1.8 km (6,000 feet) NE of Copper Hill, along a tributary of North Rattlesnake Creek (900 feet N of the Gool No. 2 claim), on National Forest land. Discovered 1940. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is hosted in chert. The ore body strikes N60E to N45W and dips 45E at a thickness of 7.62 meters and a length of 76.2 meters. Three separate bodies of manganiferous red and purple chert, and are 250 feet long, 20 feet thick, 80 feet long; 25 feet thick and 50 feet long; and, 20 feet thick. The largest body strikes N60E at the NE end, and N45W at the SW end, dipping 45E. Rocks adjacent to the chert are greenstone and serpentine. Manganese oxide occurs mostly as stains and coatings, but to some extent penetrates the chert. The oxides are presumably derived from manganiferous chert, but may come from rhodonite since a small amount of pink rhodonite is present. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
