A former Cr mine located in sec. 5 and/or sec. 11 (assumed spot at the center NE¼ sec. 11), T38N, R6W, MDM, 3.0 km (9,900 feet) W of Boulder Peak, on the divide between Crow Creek and West Branch Crow Creek, S of Mumbo Basin, on National Forest land (located claim). Owned by Mrs. Luella Beachamp, San Francisco, California (1918). Produced during the period 1918-1955. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is either 500 or 1,000 meters (2 MRDS files).
Mineralization is hosted in serpentinite. The ore body is podiform. Associated rock is Late Cretaceous gabbro. The deposit occurs in a large body of peridotite that covers approximately 300 square miles of NE Trinity County. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite) and/or Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
