A stream placer Au-PGE occurrence located 7.4 km (4.6 miles) WNW of Hayfork, along Little Creek near its confluence with Hayfork Creek (on Hayfork Creek 11 miles E of Hyampom, at the mouth of Little Creek). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a stream placer deposit (Model code 119; USGS model code 39a; BC deposit profile C01. C02; deposit model name: Placer Au-PGE; Mark3 model number 54), hosted in Holocene gravel. The ore body is a stream sediment deposit. at 1.22 meters thick. Ore controls included stream hydraulics. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 5 (Klamath Mountains).
Tectonic Structures include the Klamath Mountains Accreted Terrane - Hayfork Terrane.
Analytical data results: Two or more colors of Pt can be obtained from every pan taken from bedrock (Logan: 92).
