A Cr occurrence/claim located in sec. 2 and/or 3 (assumed spot at center of sec. 2), T38N, R6W, MDM, 3.4 km (2.1 miles) W of Boulder Peak, along the West Branch Crow Creek, S of Mumbo Basin, on National Forest land. Discovered in 1939 by Mr. Elmo Pickering and Mr. Bud Wagner. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The deposit occurs in a large body of peridotite that covers approximately 300 square miles of NE Trinity County. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
