A former Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 24, T20N, R10E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) NNE of Downieville, along the E canyon wall of Pauley Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Mineralization is a vein deposit. Parallel veins occur with a distance between them being 400, 1,000 and 200 feet. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of 3 adits and 1 shaft on the Ackley vein, 665 feet total. 4 adits were driven on the Crouse vein, 730 feet total.
Analytical data results: 5% arsenopyrite, sometimes massive.
