A former lode Au-Zn-Pb-As mine located in secs. 17, 18 & 19, T33N, R7W, MDM (coordinates accurate; sections projected), 3.4 km (2.1 miles) ESE of Deadwood and 5.0 km (3.1 miles) W of French Gulch, in Summit Gulch. Located prior to 1896. Property consists of 8 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a gold-bearing vein deposit hosted in rocks of the Bragdon Formation (slate). The ore body is pinch and swell in form, strikes N0-25E and dips 40-65E at a thickness of 1.52 meters. Sheared slate is cut by 3 "birdseye" porphyry dikes. Quartz veins a few inches to 2 feet thick cut the dikes. Ore is localized by veins with opposing dips. The best ore occurs near porphyry dikes. Gold occurs with sulfides in veins near their contact. Sphalerite is the principal sulfide. Arsenopyrite occurs in the porphyry dikes as well as in the vein. Associated rocks include granite.
Local rocks include carboniferous marine rocks, unit 4 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).

Local structures include a fault striking N30W, dipping 50SW. It truncates the main vein causing an opposition in dip angle of the vein.

Workings include underground openings. Later additions to a few hundred feet of crosscut adits, drifts, and shafts include 2 adits at 100 and 400 feet with drifts and winzes.
