A Au-As-Ag occurrence/prospect located in the SW¼NE¼, SE¼NW¼ and in the NE¼SW¼ sec. 17, T11N, R1E, SBM, about 12 km NNW of Calico, at the northern end of the Calico Mountains (3.3 miles SE of the summit of Lane Mountain), on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Field work by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in 1993 did not conclusively locate this prospect. This prospect/mine shows little promise.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. The vein is 2 feet thick and extends along strike for 200 feet. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Northern Mojave Desert and Southeastern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface openings comprised of a pit.
Analytical data results: Sample assayed 0.2 ounce Au and 0.1 ounce Ag.
