A former lode Au occurrence/prospect/mine located in the N½ sec. 33, T3N, R1E, SBM, about 5.6 km NNW of Big Bear City, along the N margin of the E end of Holcomb Valley, on private (patented) land. The property is comprised of 3 patented claims, non-contiguous and en-echelon. 8-74 cres were worked in the late 1800's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body is 1.22 meters thick. The veins are 1 to 4 feet thick. On the middle claim, one vein is exposed for 500 feet. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 40 degree incline to the N at approximately 240 feet deep. Workings to the W of the shaft are believed to be largely above 60 foot level. Most of the workings lie within 300 feet E of the shaft, beneath an area now overlain by dump material. A SECOND VEIN, AS CLOSE AS 100 FT. NORTH OF MAIN SHAFT, HAS BEEN WORKED ALONG ITS STRIKE FOR ABOUT 400 FT., BUT AT SHALLOW DEPTHS. WEST OF SHAFT, WORKINGS BELIEVED TO EXIST LARGELY ABOVE 60 FT. LEVEL, AND EXTEND ONLY A SHORT DISTANCE BEYOND A HOLED-THROUGH RAISE ABOUT 150 FT. FROM THE MAIN SHAFT
