A former Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NW¼SW¼ sec. 28, T11N, R2E, SBM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) W of Coyote Well (coordinates of record), along the extreme eastern margin of the Calico Range (5 miles E of Jackhammer Gap), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diorite. The ore body strikes NNW and dips 35-45W at a thickness of 0.3 meter. The grade of the ore decreases with depth. The deposit consists of 2 parallel, iron-stained, vuggy quartz veins 6 to 12 inches thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of two 50 foot deep shafts and a pit.
