A former limestone deposit/quarry located in sec. 14, T3N, R1E, SBM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) ESE of Cushenbury, along the W side of Cushenbury Canyon, on National Forest land. Owned & operated by the Mitsubishi Cement Corp. (1990). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database contains a second file (#10232028; MAS-MILS #0060711338) for a Cushenbury Quarry. The geographic coordinates presented place it in Lucerne Valley, far from Cushenbury, where the topo map does not reflect the presence of any mining symbols. All other relevant data in that file are in agreement with this alleged quarry. There are no data common to both files that would allow a decision on whether or not they are the same locality.
Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Mojave Desert).
Workings include unspecified surface openings (the topo map reflects a very large shaded area representing the quarry).
