A former Ag-Pb-Zn occurrence/mine located in sec. 16, T17N, R11E, SBM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) W of Shadow Mountain (summit) (coordinates of record) (9 air miles NW of Valley Wells). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in gneiss and schist. A series of brecciated and re-cemented quartz veins occur along a series of faults in schist and gneiss. The country rock is garnetiferous quartz-biotite schist and dirote gneiss, that strikes northward and dips 20-65E. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Death Valley).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 90 foot, 70 degree inclined shaft plus a 30 foot and a 60 foot shaft and open cuts.
It was reported that 100 tons of ore were milled in 1950.
