A former Cr mine located in the NW¼SW¼ (assumed based on spot on topo map) sec. 16, T23N, R9E, MDM, 4.8 km (3.0 miles) WSW of Crescent Hill, on National Forest land. Owned by A.A. Benner and R.E. Barrington, Quincy, California (1942-1943). Last worked 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a lens-shaped ore body 0.61 meters wide and 3.05 meters long. Local rocks include Ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings consisted of an open cut 15 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 15 feet high at the face (1943).
