A former placer Au mine located in sec. 17, T23N, R10E, MDM, 0.9 km (2,900 feet) SSE of Little Volcano, at and below (down stream) of Rich Bar (not the Rich Bar in the Edmanton District), on the Middle Fork Feather River. Owner-Operator was Norman Grant (1989). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Please note: papers detailing the platinum occurrences of Plumas county refer to the Rich Bar in the EDMANTON DISRICT (North Fork Feather River), not the Rich Bar on the Middle Fork Feather River.
