A Cu-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 15, T12N, R8E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) SE of Auburn proper, E of the county fairgrounds. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes S3E and dips 80E at a thickness of 0.61 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 21.34 meters and comprised of a 70 foot inclined shaft.
Analytical data results: Reported values of 1% Cu and $0.75 (period values) in Au (per ton ??).
