A former placer Au occurrence/prospect located in the N½ sec. 15, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2.7 km W of Glenbrook (coordinates of record), S of Deer Creek. Owned & operated by the Deer Creek Placer Mining Company. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Prospecting began in 1929 to determine the value of the ground. A test run of 1,300 cubic yards had an average recovery of 20 & 7/8 cents ($0.20875) per cubic yard, but bedrock gave pan samples indicating a Au content of several dollars (period values) per cubic yard, it was reported.
Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
workings included a plant with a capacity of 30 cubic yards per hour that was installed in 1929. A larger plant was planned.
