A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½SE¼ sec. 17, T18N, R11E, MDM, 2.7 km (1.7 miles) SW of Graniteville, on the W canyon wall of Poorman Creek (½ mile E of the Quinn Ranch), on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. The property comprises 22.87 acres. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N3E and dips 45 to 78 at a thickness of 3.66 meters. The vein is 2 feet to 12 feet thick, averaging 8 feet thick. The vein carries 1 to 2% sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 914.4 meters and an overall depth of 60.96 meters and comprised of 3 tunnels (adits ?), raises, etc.

Production data are found in: McCulloch, W.C., Oesterling, W.A., Spurck, W.H., & Tischler, M.S. (1964).

No other production record was found.

Analytical data results: Sulfides average $50 to $90 (period values) Au/ton. Ore assays at 0.024 to 0.3 ounces of Au/ton.
