A former lode Au-Pb-Zn-Mo occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 17 & in the NE¼ sec. 20, T16N, R9E, MDM, about 3.5 km SE of Nevada City proper, W of Banner Mountain and E of Gold Flat, on & S of Little Deer Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The main location is in the N½ sec. 20, but also in the S½ sec. 17. Other holdings are in the S½ sec. 17 listed under other names. All refer to the Mayflower (placer & lode).
The ore body strikes E and dips 25S at a thickness of 0.46 meter. Flakes of molybdenite up to 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include extensive underground openings with a length of 1,158.24 meters and an overall depth of 121.92 meters and comprised of an incline, adits and tunnels.
