A former lode Au-Pb-Cu occurrence mine located in the NE¼ sec. 9 & in the SW¼NW¼ sec. 10, T16N, R9E, MDM, about 2.2 km ESE of Willow Valley (town), and about 2½ miles E of Nevada City. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Calaveras Complex (clay, mud, slate). The ore body strikes N80E and dips 45S at a thickness of 1.22 meters. Deposit is in the Calaveras Formation near a granodiorite contact. Associated rocks include Pennsylvanian diorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 304.8 meters and an overall depth of 304.8 meters.
