A former lode Au-Pb-Zn-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 12, in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 13 & in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 14, T17N, R11E, MDM, about 5.6 km ENE of Omega, on the N side of the South Yuba River (7 miles E of Washington), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in schist and granite. The ore body strikes N70W and dips 70-80E at a thickness of 9.14 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 1,597.15 meters and an overall depth of 335.28 meters and comprised of a 65° incline with extensive workings.
Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August (1941).
Production statistics: Year: 1891 (period = 1890-1891) (accurate): 8 grams Au/metric ton. Production during the period 1890 to 1891 was under the name of Diamond Consolidated.
