A former lode Au-Cu-Zn-Pb occurrence/mine located in the center of sec. 20, T18N, R9E, MDM, 3.0 km (1.9 miles) NW of Columbia Hill (coordinates of record), on the S ridge of the Middle Yuba River (2½ miles N of North Columbia). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Pennsylvanian slate of the Calaveras Complex. The ore body strikes N10E and dips 75E. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 152.4 meters and comprised of a 60° incline, tunnels, and several adits, all with several thousand feet of workings.
Production information: Over $1,500,000 (period values) was reported as mined during the period 1890-1914 (Delhi & Gothardt veins).
Analytical data results: Sulfides assayed $80 to $100 (period values) Au/ton.
