A former lode Au-Pb occurrence/mine located in sec. 1, T15N, R8E, MDM, about 4.3 km SSE of Grass Valley proper, on the NE summit of Osborne Hill. The property comprises 13 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. One of the claims/mines consolidated into the Sultana Mine.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10101245 presents geographic coordinates of -121.02325, 39.21711N, which are discrepant compared to the coordinates provided in the other 2 MRDS files for this locality. These coordinates place this locality in sec. 25, T16N, R8E, MDM.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diabase and sedimentary breccia. Associated rocks include diorite. The ore body is a shoot 200 feet long, strikes N and dips 30W at a thickness of 0.36 meter. The vein is 6 to 14 inches (15 ton 35 cm) tbhick and carries 3% sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 457.2 meters and an overall depth of 198.12 meters and comprised of 2 shafts with 6 levels and drifts.

Production statistics: Period = 1859 to 1880: 72 to 137 grams Au metric ton. 3% sulfides worth $150 (period values) Au/ton.
