A Mn occurrence/prospect located in the N½ sec. 8, T6N, R25E, MDM, 4.9 km (3.0 miles) SE of Wheeler Peak (coordinates of record), on National Forest land (located claim). Discovered in 1940. Owned by R. J. Thomas and Bert Davis (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in andesite, sedimentary breccia and tuff (volcanic breccia [agglomerate]). The ore body is 0.1 meters thick. Psilomelane stringers 1 to 4 inches thick in a crystal lithic andesitic tuff and breccia (dacite ?). General trend of the stringers is NW-SE, dipping SW. Some manganite may be present. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 15 foot deep, 28 foot long, 4 foot wide cut with a shaft started at the end. Another cut is caved. There is also a 15 foot tunnel.
