A former lode Au mine located in sec. 10, T6S, R17E, MDM, 0.6 km (2,100 feet) SE of Catheys Valley, along Owens Creek (close to highway 140). Operated by L. H. Rowland and S. B. Givens (1924). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NW and dips SW steeply at a thickness 0.91 meter. The vein is traceable for 1.5 miles. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 18.29 meters and comprised of a shaft and open cuts.
Idle in 1954.
