A former Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 2 and in the NE¼ sec. 11 (sec. ¼'s probable), T5S, R16E, MDM, 3.0 km (9,900 feet) ESE of Quartzburg, along El Dorado Creek (1 mile NE of the Number Nine Mine). Property consisted of 4 claims. Owned by Milton Sutherland (1927). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is .
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Vein matter consists principally of milky quartz with abundant pyrite. Surface showings of gossan are common. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings included underground openings comprised of a long crosscut adit with extensive connecting drifts and stopes, 2 shafts, 1 at 260 feet deep and the other at 200 feet deep.
A small production was recorded in 1899. The principal period of activity was 1909 to 1914. The mine was operated under lease for a time in 1921-1922, and a small production was recorded. No material amount of mining has been done since 1922 and the property has reverted to agricultural status.
