A former lode Au mine located in the E½ (estimated) sec. 33, T2S, R16E, MDM, 1.3 km (4,400 feet) NW of Coulterville, along Blacks Creek. Discovered in 1867. Operated last during the period 1900 to 1902. Property consisted of patented (private) land. Operated by Louise A. Boyd. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. This mine is the most northerly mine in the Mary Harrison group, which is aligned on a branch of the Mother Lode vein system commonly called the East Branch.
Mineralization is an en echelon vein system hosted in serpentinite. The ore body strikes N35W and dips 45NE at a thickness of 6.1 meters. Serpentine is near slate. Low grade ore was also found as pyritic impregnations in serpentine wall rock adjacent to the vein. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of the main inclined shaft surmounted by a wooden headframe and ore bin, two tunnels, several auxilliary shafts and stopes.

Little record of activity before the 1890's when considerable development work must have been done. The mine reopened in 1900 and some rich ore was discovered. Very little has been done on the property since 1902 and workings were caved and inaccessible in September, 1954.
