A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 5, T15N, R8E, MDM, on Deadman Flat, 4 miles SW of Grass Valley and about 7 km W of La Barr Meadows. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: Clark (1970a) places the Alcade Mine (Kenosha) in the Rough-and-Ready District. This is feasible but it more than likely belongs in the Grass Valley District.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
