A former lode and placer Au mine located in the SW¼SW¼ & in the E½SE¼ sec. 24, T29N, R11E, MDM, 4.6 km (2.8 miles) N of Diamond Mountain, E side of Gold Run Creek. Also located in the E½SE¼ of the same section. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Vein and shear zone strike N24E and dip 65NW on the N-central portion of the property. The vein or mineralized zone consists of a 3-6 inch quartz vein on the hanging wall, and 12 to 18 inches of sheared biotite - quartz - diorite on the footwall side on the NE portion of the property. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of numerous workings, including a 30 foot deep shaft, cross-cut tunnels and drifts.
$50,000 in Au (period values) recovered from pocket occurrences. Amount recovered in placer operations unknown.
