A Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼SE¼ sec. 26, T29N, R11E, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) N of Diamond Mountain, E of Gold Run Creek. Also located in the SE¼ sec. 23, and in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 25. Operated by Mr. George N. McDow - Diamond Mountain Mine Co. (1936). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Several transverse faults offset the vein in at least 3 places. Fine crystalline pyrite occurs in patches in the quartz and on cavity linings. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 180 foot cross-cut tunnel and drifting for nearly 300 feet.
Some of the ore exposed in workings is said to have averaged $5 per ton (period values). The mill was being dismantled in August, 1928.
