A former W occurrence/mine located in the center of the E½ (estimated) sec. 3, T28S, R32E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) N of Havilah, along the W canyon wall of havilah Canyon, E of O'Brien Hill. Claims owned by 3 unspecified owners. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in metamorphic rock & quartz diorite. The ore body is lenticular in form, strikes N65E and dips SE at a width of 6.1 meters, length of 9.14 meters and a depth-to-bottom of 6.1 meters, and is comprised of a lens of tactite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Local geologic structures include a fault striking N55E and diping 75SE.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an inclined stope (?), opan at the top and connected with a vertical shaft 40 feet deep. Drifts extend from the stope area about 75 feet N65E.
Production data are found in: Troxel, Bennie Wyatt & P.K. Morton (1962).
There was probably some production for one ore body, the other ore body produced $10,000 (period values) in scheelite from ore with as much as 10% WO3.
