A former Ag-Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 28 & 29, T30S, R33E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) SSW of Loraine and 1.9 km (1.2 miles) SE of Millersville, at the crest of the divide between Indian Creek on the E and Studhorse Canyon on the W. Owned by Clarence G. Talleur, Carson City, Nevada (1949- ). The property is comprised of 4 claims. Owned by Basic Metals, Ltd., Los Angeles, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Adjoins the Gold Peak claim on the N.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes E-W and dips 40-50S at a thickness of 3.66 meters. The vein is 12 feet in thickness and is filled with quartz and altered wallrock. The ore shoot is 230 feet long. The gangue is quartz. Local rocks include limestone of probable Paleozoic or Mesozoic age and/or Tertiary intrusive rocks (hypabyssal), unit 7 (Northern Mojave Desert).
Workings include underground openings. The mine was developed and operated during the early part of the twentieth century. The mine is developed by 6 tunnels. The lower tunnel, No. 6, is at an elevation of 3,120 feet and was driven 206 feet E. An 80 foot raise on the vein comes within 20 feet of connecting with a winze from tunnel No. 5, that was driven 600 feet E. Tunnel No. 4, at an elevation of 3,350 feet, was driven 500 feet E. No. 3 tunnel, at an elevation of 3,550 feet, was driven 200 feet E, and tunnel No. 1, at an elevation of about 3,620 feet, was driven eastward about 50 feet. Three ore shoots, aggregating approximately 300 feet in length, were developed in these working. They were stoped from 18 inches (45 cm) to 6½ feet (1.97 meters) in width. This material all came from the hanging wall side of the vein, and in many instances aseveral feet of the vein adjacent to the footwall side remains.
