A Au-Ag prospect/pit located in sec. 1, T30S, R40E, MDM, about 5 km SSE of Randsburg, on private (patented) land (located claim) in a Bureau of Land Manaqement administered area. Owned & operated by the Rand Mining Company (100%), California (1992). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings.
As of 6-30-1995, ore reserves for Lamont pit were as follows: 18,030,000 proven tons with a grade of 0.021 and 920,000 probable tons with a grade of 0.020. The stripping ratio is 1.67:1 (Glamis Gold 1995 Annual Report-front cover). As of 1995, Lamont was depleted but Lamont East Extension was in the process of permitting.
