A former lode Au occurrence/mine and plant located in the SE¼ sec. 1, T30S, R40E, MDM, about 2.6 km SE of Randsburg and about 2.6 km S of Johannesburg, about 1 mile NE of "Stringer," on private (patented) land (located claim), within a Bureau of Land Management administered area. Discovered in 1990. Owned by Glamis Gold Inc. (100%), Canada (1996). Owned and operated by the Rand Mining Company (100%), California (1996). Unknown involvement by DRX, Inc. (1993- ). First production occurred in 1993. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE: This is the new Baltic Mine complex (Baltic project). It is a strip mine operation. The Baltic Mine consists of the Baltic deposit and the Lamont Extension (MAS seq. #0060291259). The property is part of the Yellow Aster Mine/Baltic Mine development. See the Yellow Aster Mine (MAS seq. #0060290374) for details. This MAS property will contain data pre-1995 (FY) for the Baltic Mine and LAmont Extension properties. Post fiscal year 1995 data will be entered into MAS seq #0060291321 "Rand Mine," which will contain the combined Yellow Aster + Baltic Mineand related property data.

Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
