A former W-Cu occurrence/mine located in secs. 10 & 15, T26S, R38E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) N of Indian Wells, N of Indian Wells Canyon, along the E margin of the mountain range (4½ miles NW of Inyokern). Operated during the periods 1942, 1943, 1945, and 1953 to 1957. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in metasedimentary rocks. The ore body is lenticular in form at a width of 45.72 meters and a length of 243.84 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included shear zones. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or schist of various types and ages, unit 4 (El Paso Mountains).
Workings include underground openings.
