A former W occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 31, T25S, R33E, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) WNW of Wofford Heights. Produced during the period 1952 to 1956. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in metasedimentary rock. Controls for ore emplacement included fracture zones in general peripheral to a body of granodiorite that penetrates the roof pendant. Metasedimentary rocks consist of quartz-biotite-epidote schist, quartzite, hornfels and minor garnet tactite hornfels and quartzite are massive in part granitized and cut by quartz veinlets near contacts with granodiorite. Associated rocks include diorite. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of several small glory holes and open cuts as much as 75 feet long, 25 feet wide and 20 feet deep. The glory holes bottom in raises from the haulage level driven 212 feet N45E from the paved road.
