A former W occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NE¼ (estimated) sec. 14, T27S, R32E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) ENE of Miracle Hot Springs and 0.9 km (0.6 mile) SW of Bodfish, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartz diorite and granodiorite. The ore body strikes N35E and dips steeply SE at a width of 1.83 meters. Two parallel veins 3 to 6 feet (0.91 to 1.82 meters) and 500 feet apart. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 4 adits at about 50 feet vertical intervals. The 2 lower adits comprise about 300 feet mostly of drifts. The upper levels are largely caved.
Production data are found in: Troxel, Bennie Wyatt & P.K. Morton (1962).
Several small shipments were made prior to 1940, probably less than 2,000 pounds of WO3.
