A former Cu-Ag-Au-Mn occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SE¼ sec. 29, NW¼ sec. 32 & in sec. 33, T28S, R39E, MDM, 3.6 km (2.3 miles) ESE of Black Mountain (coordinates of record), in the headwaters area of Mormon Gulch. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in limestone. Controls for ore emplacement included a fracture zone on the northeastern zone. Southeastern zone shows mineralization in the vertical fault zone. The northeastern area contains ore minerals in a fracture zone. In the southeastern area traces of Mn & Cu mineralization occurs in vertical fault zone and as replacement by manganese oxides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Northern Mojave Desert and Southeastern Sierra Nevada).

Local geologic structures include a fault zone that strikes N10W and dips steeply NE to vertical.

Workings include surface and underground openings. The northeast workings include an adit driven S50W at least 350 feet, open cuts and several prospect shafts. The southwest workings include a vertical shaft, probably tens of feet deep.

Several ounces of Au were recovered in the mill near the northeastern workings in 1940. A few tens of pounds of Cu were recovered. Au ore contained about 0.5 ounce Au/ton.
