A former Ag-W mine located in sec. 9, T7S, R34E, MDM, about 9.6 km WSW of Black Canyon Spring, S of Redding Canyon, on National Forest wilderness land (Black Canyon Roadless Area Review & Evaluation (RARE II) Area) (located claim). Owned by F. N. Peregoy, Madera, California (1982). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. The R & R claims in Bateman (1956), are now part of the Golden Mirage & Mariposa (personal communication by F.N. Peregoy to USGS staff (1981)).

Mineralization is hosted in granite (formation name is the Redding Canyon Quartz Monzonite). The ore body strikes N20E and dips 40W at a thickness of 0.6 meter a width of 5 meters and a length of 15 meters. The primary mode of origin was contact metasomatic and the secondary mode was metamorphism. Primary ore control was a contact zone. Two different types of ore bodies are described in the USGS MRDS file but both are designated as orebody #1: A replacement body of massive nature with intense wallrock alteration (carbonate silic.); and, a tabular fissure vein with a hydrothermal origin and fracturing as the primary ore control with slight wallrock alteration (silicification). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings. There is a 40 foot wide glory hole with a 17 foot deep shaft within it. There are 70 feet between the West end of the underground workings at the shaft and the headwall.
