A former Pb-Zn-Ag-Au-Cu mine located in sec. 26, T17S, R42E, MDM, 3.2 km (1.9 miles) WSW of Panamint Butte (coordinates of record) (7 miles NE of Panamint Springs), on National Park Service wilderness land (Death Valley National Park/Death Valley Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body dips 30NW at a width of 1.22 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a fault. The ore occurs in a zone of brecciation and alteration in limestone. The outcrop expression above the ore is an Fe-stained, silicified halo. Mineralization dies out toward the SE, along the fault. Bleaching and dolomitization of the limestone increases in the southeasterly direction. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 2 (SE California Carbonate Assemblage).

Local geologic structures include a low-angle fault striking E and dipping N.

Workings include surface and underground openings. There are workings on 2 levels. The lower level has a short adit driven S20E, ending in a small, irregular stope. The upper level has a 110 foot adit driven S55E, along the fault. It ends in an irregular 80 foot stope. There is also a 900 foot crosscut adit driven N70E, and 2 30 foot adits driven N25E and N30E.

Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).

production information: 372 tons of ore were mined in 1944 and 1945. In 1946, 11 car loads were shipped. In 1947, 30 tons of shipping-grade ore was produced.

Analytical data: Last ore shipped: 13.7% Pb, 11.75% Zn, 2.9 ounces Ag/ton, some Cu & Au.
