A former lode Au-Zn-Pb occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 9, T9N, R13E, MDM, 2.5 km (1.6 miles) NNW of Grizzly Flat, in the headwaters area of Cedar Canyon, N of Sunday Ridge and S of the North Fork Cosumnes River, on private land. Operated by Marian S. Clark C/O the Eagle King Mining Co. Operated during the period 1894 to 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite and mica schist. The ore body strikes NNE and dips 80W at a thickness of 1.22 meters (3 to 4 feet). The vein strikes N to NE and dips 75 to 90W, on a contact between granodiorite and mica schist. The quartz contains 3% sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,200 foot drift adit and a 60 foot winze 200 feet from the portal, plus a raise to surface. A 10-stamp mill was erected.
