A Mn occurrence/prospect located in sec. 24, T9S, R20E, SBM, 5.3 km (3.3 miles) SE of Thumb Peak (coordinates of record) and 10.1 km (6.3 miles) SW of Palo Verde, along the eastern flank of the Palo Verde Mountains. Discovered in 1942. Owned by H. L. Jackson and Edward Rochester, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is .
The ore body strikes N45W and dips 35SE at a thickness of 2.44 meters. Manganese oxide occurs in conglomerate. The ore zone is 8 feet thick. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 15 (Southern Mojave Desert) and/or Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided.
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
