A dimension stone deposit/quarry located in the SW¼SE¼ sec. 2, T1S, R1W, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 miles; 4,800 feet) SSW of Mount Diablo (coordinates of record), on the southern slope of the mountain, on state-owned land (Mount Diablo State Park. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Glaucophane schist was quarried for use as a building stone.
Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Small production probably totaling less than 20 tons. All was used locally.
