A former Au mine located inn the NW¼ sec. 3, T2N, R13E, and in sec. 33, T3N, R13E, MDM, 1.5 km (4,800 feet/0.9 mile) SE of Angels Camp. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 to 1,000 meters (2 MRDS files).
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist and gabbro. The ore body strikes N20W and dips 55NE. The 5 foot wide vein has a green schist footwall and a metagabbro hanging wall. It is said to be the same as that found in the Gold Cliff and Madison claims. A diorite dike adjoins the vein of the hanging wall. Logan, 1934, reported that the country rock is amphibolite schist. Local rocks include Undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an open, inclined shaft 225 feet deep. Property was diamond drilledm to 1,000 feet.
Good assays in schist to 300 feet depth.
Extensively worked many years ago.
