A former lode Au-Pb-Cu mine located in the SE¼ sec. 30, T6N, R13E, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) S of Glencoe, on Cedar Gulch. Operated in 1882 & 1889. Also operated (with production data) during the period 1934-1936 and 1952. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate, quartzite and mica schist. The ore body strikes NNW and dips E at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The vein varies in thickness from 1.5 to 6.0 feet, averaging 3.5 feet. Quartzite in the country rock is very dark. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Local structures include fine- to medium-grained diorite dikes.
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 60.96 meters. Developed originally by a 200 foot shaft, and later by a new 40 foot shaft and 30 feet of drifting, plus a 150 foot lower drift adit, a 200 foot S drift adit, and a 400 foot N drift adit.

Analytical data results: Blue-white, ribboned quartz next to the wallrock was said to assay from $10 to $25 (period values) a ton (Au ?).
