A former lode Au-Pb-Cu mine located in sec. 4, T6N, R13E, MDM, about 2 km (1.2 miles) WNW of West Point. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit contained within a diorite dike (granodiorite). The ore body is lens-shaped, strikes NW and dips 50SW at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The host rock was described as a hornblende granite of even texture and light gray in color. At a depth of 300 feet, the shaft encountered a zone of chloritic and talcose schists. A large lens-shaped mass of quartz was encountered at greater depth. The vein ranges in thickness from 10 inches (25 cm) to 4 feet (1.21 meters) in thickness. Fissures cut off the vein at the 400 foot level. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Local structures include parallel NE-striking fissures which cut off the vein N & S.

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 121.92 meters and developed by shafts, drifts, etc. The main ore shoot with 90 foot stopes was worked to the 700 foot level.

Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & P.A. Lydon (1962).

As much as $5,000 (period values) per week was produced in the late 1870's and early 1880's. Total production was estimated at $500,000 (period values). Some Cu & Pb were produced from concentrates. A large amount of bullion was recovered from a lens of quartz at depth.
