A former lode Au-Pb-Cu mine located in the SE¼ sec. 4, T6N, R13E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) W of West Point. Operated during the periods 1937 to 1940 and 1946 to 1954. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE: Seemingly conflicting data regarding strike & dip of the deposit plus confusing data regarding workings noted in MRDS files.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diorite. The ore body strikes N15W and dips 50SW at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The body is a lens-shaped quartz vein within a diorite dike. The dip of the dike and vein are S and E with a 35 to 65 degree dip (sic). The country rock is granodiorite. The main ore shoot is 10 inches (25 cm) to 4 feet (1.29 meters). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Local structures include a dike of medium-grained diorite along the footwall of the vein.

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 60.96 meters and comprised of a 200 foot inclined shaft with levels at 100 and 200 feet and a 55 foot inclined shaft about 400 feet to the SE. A 90 foot drift to the SE was driven on the 100 foot level and a 650 foot drift to the SE plus a 350 foot drift to the NW were driven o n the 200 level. There is also a winze plus stopes (stope length of 90 feet mined down to 700 feet).

Rich Au & galena ore was encountered on the 400 level (100 feet 1n).
