A former placer Au-PGE (Pt) mine/claims/deposit located along the Smith River at its confluence with Coldwater Creek, 1.5 km (4,800 feet) ESE of Signal Peak and 4.7 km (3.0 miles) W of Gasquet.

Mineralization is a Au-Pt stream placer deposit (Deposit model: 119: placer Au-PGE), hosted in stream gravels.

Related tectonic structures include the Klamath Mountains Accreted Terrane.
