A former W-Au mine located in the NW¼ (deposit is 1200 S, 2000 E from the NW corner of the sec.) sec. 9, T10N, R19E, MDM, 1.4 km (4,500 feet) N of Burnside Lake (coordinates of record) and 2.1 km (7,000 feet) SW of Hawkins Peak (coordinates of record), about 6 to 7 miles NW of Markleeville.
NOTE: The coordinates provided in the USGS MRDS database file were over 1,000 feet off. The coordinates were adjusted to correspond to the adit symbol for the Cal-Pine Mine on the topo map.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite, schist, and quartzite. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
